The Kaduna convict prisons along Independence Way has turned into a Mecca, as supporters of the former Governor of the state, Ramallan Yero, keeps trooping there on daily basis to show solidarity with the former Governor who is remanded there by a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna.
Investigation by our correspondent showede that ever since the former Governor and three others were brought to the prisons, people have been visiting it either for solidarity or to confirm if Yero was actually taken to the place.
When Peoples Daily visited the prisons, more than thirty cars were seen in queue opposite the prison.
Sighted among the crowd were some former commissioners that served in Yero administration.
It was gathered that some of them arrived around 7:AM everyday and departs around 8:PM.
The mosque at the prisons training school also became center as most of the visitors break their fast there and made provision for others to do same.
Speaking to our reporter, one of the visitors, Shuaibu Aliyu, said there mission was to always pass the night there but the PDP leadership in the state pleaded with them to go home and come back every morning.
However, more security operatives have been deployed to the prison to maintain law and order.
The former Governor and the three accused person alongside him, are expected in court on the 6th of June for the hearing of their bail application.
It would be recalled that Yero was arraigned in company of former Minister of State for Power, Nuhu Wya, Ishaq Hamza, former Secretary to Kaduna State Government and Alhaji Abubakar Goya, over a four count charge of criminal conspiracy, bribery, laundering and criminal diversion of public funds.
