A retired civil servant in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Mohammed Guwa Lamorde, has commended the Federal Government for her efforts to entrench economic stability within two years, as the country was facing economic recession before.
Lamorde gave the commendation in an interview with Peoples Daily in Abuja, recalling that countries like Russian and U.S.A suffered economic meltdown in 2008.
He also hailed the government as well as Nigerian Army for the radical step being taken to wage war against Boko Haram.
He expressed dismay the manner at which the people were being massacred in the name of Fulani herdsmen in the country.
His words: “These herdsmen are not referred to the actual Fulani herdsmen if Nigerians watch the mode of their operation. They are all over the country, especially the northern states and some parts of south-south as well as south-east. The herdsmen are using the name of the Fulani herdsmen as well putting on their attire to disguise and spoil the name of Fulani”.
He, however, appealed to the Federal Government to create grazing areas for the herdsmen across the country in order to arrest perpetual disputes between the herdsmen and farmers.
This, he said the creation of grazing areas was the only solution and was the only way to identify the real Fulani herders from the fake herdsmen.
Similarly, he charged the Federal Government to establish a special court where the looters, kidnappers, armed robbers, human traffickers and other social vices committed by the people would be dealt with.
Commenting on the election sequence, he said the National Assembly has not right to distort the time table of the 2019 elections, noting that the INEC was established by law as the Independent body to conduct the elections.
Lamorde, also commended the APC-led government for its efforts to boost food production in the country, and urged Nigerians to vote the APC for the second term to actualize their dreams for the nation.
