Top football scouts from Italy, Spain and Sweden have started arriving the country for the maiden edition of Sportthris football trials which will be held in Umuahia, Abia state from July 21 to August 15.
The tournament, christened “Discovery Football Talent” is specifically meant for footballers from age 16-20 to discover talented youngsters who aspire to be professional footballers.
According to a press release by the organizer of the tournament and made available to our correspondent Sportthris is a sport social networking site that will be launched in August and will encourage youths all over the world to interface and like each other as it is been done on other social network .
“This Discovery Football Talent is designed to takes vast majority of Nigeria youth out of the streets and empowers them says “Sportthris Sports Coordinator Mr. Chuks Nwaokocha.

Nwaokocha disclosed that the Founder/CEO has identified football as an easy way through which it can easily achieve empowering youths.
Also part of the activities line up include, Preach Peace to the World…World Peace initiative in honors of World Peace Legend Former South African President, anti-apartheid leader, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, the father of modern South Africa and global icon Nelson Mandela Preach Peace Nigeria 2014.
The objective of this campaign, which Sportthris and Partners are bringing to the hundreds of millions of viewers for the 2014 Peace Campaign, is to ensure that every Nigerian has the right to a peaceful world, free from conflict and abuse.
Sportthris Sport Social Network international and Velletri Multibiz Services represented by Sports Promotions Director, Mr. Oritse Jagun and Godson Football Promotions by Christopher Andrew Onowho are in the process of organising Preach Peace Campaign where the endorsement to preach tolerance, justice, unity and love during opening of the Event by World Class Footballers, Musicians and Comedies.
The package was designed to stimulate support for the Peace Cup from different segments of the Nigerian society and is poised to create a lifelong memory in the minds of all soccer loving Nigerians and enthusiasts.
The event is expected to bring together people from all walks of life including celebrities from the entertainment and prominent former football stars.
Over one hundred highly contested matches would be played around the 36 states of the country by over 40 thousand players under the supervision of Sportthris Managers, Scouts, Coaches and Personnel in collaboration with our National Bred Coaches which makes the event extra ordinary”.
