President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Isaac Olorunfemi, has warned players in electrical equipment manufacturing in the country not to produce low quality accessories and distribute same in the Nigerian market.
Engr. Olorunfemi issued this warning during a visit to Elswedy Electric Nigeria Limited, Lagos yesterday when he led a team of Engineers to the company to undertake an industrial tour on request.
He said at this crucial period that the federal government is working hard to stabilize electricity supply in the country; electrical accessories meant for the indigenous market must meet international standards for the electricity resuscitation program to succeed.
Olorunfemi listed industrial revival and job creation with the attendant impact on the general economy as some of the advantages of stable power in any nation, and assured that the robust investment being made in the sector will no doubt fulfill the nation’s aspiration of joining the mega economies of the world in 2020.
He thanked the Managing Director of the company for receiving him with his team and commended the efforts on promotion of made in Nigeria products by the company targeted at servicing the power sector, and called on the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) to move into action and stem the menace of infiltration of the country’s market with fake products.
