Adamawa state Governor, Murtala Nyako has described the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new emir of Kano as well deserved.
He said this when he paid a condolence and visit to Gov. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and Emir Sanusi over the death of Alh. Ado Bayero and his appointment of the new emir, at Government House, Kano, on Monday.
Nyako told the new emir that “God Almighty has destined that you are going to be the 14th emir of Fulani dynasty in the state” and prayed to Almighty Allah to prolong his reign so as to transform the state to match contemporary global challenges.
While thanking the state governor for choosing Lamido Sanusi who, according to him, has experience and is knowledgeable with full of wisdom Gov. Nyako prayed for Allah to grant soul of Late Emir Ado Bayero Jannatul Firdaus.
In his response, the new Emir, Lamido Sanusi disclosed that there is a very long cordial relationship between the Kano and that of Adamawa emirates.
He described the death Emir Bayero as a great loss, not only to Kano or Nigeria, but to the entire Africa continent because, according to him, he was a member of African traditional and religious organisations.
He said, “We have lost a leader and father who was recognised by his subjects as just, prudent and a pious leader who was always protecting the oppressed.”
He expressed appreciation for the visit and expressed hope that the relationship between Kano and Adamawa would continue to grow stronger.
