The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has condemned incessant attack by terrorist in some parts of North-East of Nigeria.
Gambari, who stated this while speaking with journalists in his palace to mark his 19th anniversary on the throne as 11th Emir of Ilorin, said the federal government should not relent in its efforts to combat the insurgent.
The Emir, who is also the Chairman, Kwara state Traditional Council, urged politicians to remain committed to acts capable of enhancing nation-building.
Gambari, who described the people of Ilorin emirate as peace-loving, liberal and accommodating, charged government at all levels to always embark on programmes that can further uplift the standard of the community, stressing that there cannot be any meaningful development amidst bad leadership.
He also thanked God for the numerous developments witnessed in the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara state in general in the last 19 years, adding that more can still be achieved with mutual understanding and cooperation.
He, therefore, commended the Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, security agencies, traditional rulers as well as the entire people of the state, for sustaining the peaceful and harmonious working tides among adherents of the two major religions across the state.
