The Emir of Gwandu and the chairman Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar has charged district and village heads as well as traditional title holders across the state to imbibe the virtues of God fearing and compassion in dealing with their people.
The emir gave the charge yesterday at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace Birnin Kebbi at the Turbaning ceremonies of the two new district heads and traditional title holders.
The emir described their appointment as by merit, requesting them to govern their people in their domain with justice and fairness.
Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar further told them to work towards sustaining the prevailing peace and security in Kebbi State as well as remain obedient to the Government at all levels.
Thousands of people from all walks of life including top government functionaries, politicians, traditional rulers, academics and the business class graced the turbaning ceremony.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was represented on the occasion by the Chief of Staff Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu Jarman Kabi, which also has in attendance the Deputy-Speaker Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alh. Muhammadu Buhari Aliero and other members of the assembly.
The newly turbaned Jakadan Gwandu is the Group Managing Director of the Garima Groups of Companies and the Deputy National President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN who is an indigene of Dakingari, Headquarters of Suru Local Government, Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State.
