Katsina Police Command has disclosed that suspected political thugs and bandits have killed two security personnel and abducted three INEC adhoc staff during the conduct of last Saturday’ s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in the state.
The command spokesman, SP Isah Gambo made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen, weekend, in Katsina.
He further added that on the day of the election around 1:00 pm political thugs ambushed a patrol team on election duty along gobirawa Falale-Maidabino feeder road in Danmusa local government area where they killed the driver of the patrol vehicle CPL Mannir Usman.
He also alleged that the thugs were led by one Mani Doro of Danya Village of Danmusa local government who according to him is now at large. He said it was during the attack that the three INEC adhoc staff were abducted.
Similarly, the statement added that bandits attacked Santar Amadi village polling unit in Kankara local government where the attackers shot and killed a Civil Defence officer, Umar Aliyu.
The Command vowed to pursue the hoodlums and make them to face the full wrath of the law.
