By Lawrence Olaoye.

Newly appointed Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Professor Rufa’i Ahmed Alkali, at weekend declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was set to reclaim the states in the South-West from the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) beginning with the April 21 Ekiti governorship election.

Speaking with news men in Ado-Ekiti,Ekiti State at the grand finale rally of the party where the President and the National leader of the Party, President Goodluck Jonathan, presented the party’s flag to its candidate, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, Alkali said the electorates in the state were tired of the misrule of the APC

Alkali, a former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, explained that the need to reclaim the South West from the opposition was the main reason why Jonathan personally led the Ekiti rally in spite of his tight schedules in order to show party members that he was ready to bring the most important zone into the nation’s main stream politics.

He said “you can see with the large turn out of party supporters who abandoned their normal activities to show solidarity for our party and its candidate ahead of the election. This is a warning signal to the APC; their end has finally come. There will be no escape route for them this time around. PDP is set to reclaim all the states in the zone. We will start from Ekiti; we are not boasting; we are all over the states campaigning to the electorates and they are telling us that they were tired being in the opposition; they want to join the mainstream politics; they are marvelled with the revolutions and transformations going on the PDP controlled states.”
