Eid-el-Kabir: Nasarawa Speaker urges Muslims to pray for free, fair polls

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has admonished Muslims and Christian brothers and sisters to use the Sallah period to pray fervently for the successful conduct of 2019 general elections.
He stated this in a press statement signed and issued by the Press Secretary to the speaker, Jibrin Gwamna and made available to our correspondent in Lafia the state capital to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration..
The statement quoted the speaker as saying that “fervent prayers by Muslims and other Nigerians would not only ensure rancour-free elections in 2019 but would also promote peace and unity in the country”.
According to him, “There is the need for all to guard against hate speeches, let do the right thing and intensify prayers for a hitch-free general elections and for the emergence of leaders that will deliver the people”.
The Speaker, however, implored religion, political and traditional leaders to preach for peace and unity among their subjects as 2019 general elections draw nearer.
He continued; “Let use this period to reconcile with ourselves and God in case we offended each other and God in the interest of peace and in order to get more God blessings and favour,”
The number three citizen further enjoined Muslims to use the Sallah period to show love to both Muslims and non-Muslims, especially by supporting the less privileged ones in the society.
Balarabe Abdullahi applauded the developmental strides of President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov.Tanko Al-Makura as well as calling on citizens to continue to pray and support them and other leaders at all levels to succeed.
