The Acting Registrar of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON) Dr. Baba Yakubu Mohammed has appealed to the chairman and management of the West African Health Examination Board (WAHEB) to bridge in the professional gap between the two organizations.
Mohammade made the disclosure when a team from WAHEB, paid a congratulatory visit led by the board chairman represented by Sanitarian Bola Oladejo who doubles as the Registrar, WAHEB.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Kehinde A Openibo Head, Media and Public Communications for : Ag. Registrar/CEO said the EHORECON Registrar pleaded that ,the scheduled meeting should not take longer time in order for the two organizations to streamline their activities and come up with new ideas that would help members .
Speaking further, he recalled how WAHEB played a major role in the establishment of the Council.
He explained that it was WAHEB that first forwarded a draft bill to the National Assembly for the emergence of the Council.
According to Dr.Mohammed, the two professional bodies are expected to quickly put capacity building place, to fill up the gap that has been existing between them.
Earlier, the vice chairman WAHEB , Prof. Ado Bello congratulated Dr. Baba Yakubu Mohammed for his outstanding leadership.
The vice chairman represented by the registrar West African Health Examination Board (WAHEB) Sanitarian Bola Oladejo said it is good for the two professional bodies to form synergy because one cannot function without the other.
The National President of the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) Dr. Sanitarian Samuel Akingbehin, said he was particularly happy to see the ray of hope, which shows that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
The National President stated Registrar’s outstanding professionalism,Proficiency, effectiveness actually gave rise to his appointment.
Similarly,the Public Health Nurses also paid a congratulatory visit to the EHORECON Boss, saying that they have been following his achievements during this COVID-19 and they were highly impressed and would collaborate with the council.
Responding, the registrar said the Council was equally ready to work with all and sundry and that the sky is wide enough for everyone to contribute its quota, he however, thanked all of them for coming.
