The chief coach of Dolphins FC, Stanley Eguma has advised the organizers of the Federation Cup to put extra effort into the competition if it (FA Cup) must restore its lost glory.
Eguma, a winner of the cup said unlike in the past people hardly know if a Federation Cup is going on at any venue not to talk of going to watch or troop to the centre to catch a glimpse.
“There needs to be an improvement because the glamour is no longer there. We knew how it was in the past with a lot of excitement and fun and it is no longer there now so something has to be done,” Eguma said.
“I think the authorities need to improve especially in the area of sponsorship because the competition has no title sponsors for now,” he added.
Presently the Federation Cup does not have a sponsor and this could be responsible for the low turnout of football enthusiasts from the stadia.
To get to the final, the Port Harcourt based team pipped Prime FC 1-0 in the semi-final match played at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja and will play Enyimba in the final on August 16 Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
