The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has said nothing would deter the commission in prosecuting corrupt offenders or other related offences.
Head of operations, Gombe zonal office, Mr. Johnson A. Babalola who made this known yesterday in Gombe when he paid courtesy call to correspondents chapel of NUJ Gombe state council said the commission is fully prepared to arrest and prosecute offenders who steal public funds.
According to him, no stone will be left on turned as EFCC have assured Nigerians it will recover public funds from looters.
The Head of operations who appreciated Buhari’s government, said the fight against corruption which has been the major problem in the country has reduced drastically.
While commenting effort made by the commission, he said in January alone they were able to convict 9 offenders and recovered N130million from them.
He called on whistle blowers across the country not to relent to give useful information to the commission to enable them fish out corrupt practices in the society.
The Head of operations while appealing to media to give the commission maximum support, he charged them to cross check their reportage before going to the press.
Responding, Chairman of the correspondents chapel of NUJ Gombe state council Abdullahi Tukur, thanked the commission for the visit and promised that the Correspondents chapel will do everything possible to ensure that their events are covered.
