An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant in Edo Central Senatorial District, Sylvanus Igbogbo, has said he is upbeat about his plans to establish mechanized farms that would help reduce unemployment in the area if he realizes his senatorial ambition.
He disclosed this yesterday while addressing his constituents in the senatorial district, where he declared that his aspiration followed his endorsement by some pressure groups, including concerned Esan Youths in Diaspora based in Carolina, United States of America, under the aegis of Actualization of True Democracy Group (ATDG) ahead of 2019 general elections.
“I am hereby assuring that I will stick to my cardinal programmes of impacting positively on the living standard of the people through job creation; introduction of genuine empowerment programmes for all those that desire it, irrespective of age, gender and political affiliations.
According to him, “Introduction of mechanized farming on a large scale such that our people will benefit massively in terms of high returns on investment; effective legislation to address shortage of infrastructure in the Constituency among many others”.
He challenged his Constituents to recall him if he fails to meet up with at least 50 percent of his campaign promises within two years of his administration.
He also promised to initiate regular townhall meetings with aim to the set up a feedback desk where issues would be articulated and addressed.
“I am signing a social contract with my constituents that if by two years in office I cannot meet up with at least 50 percent of my campaign promises the process of my recall from the National Assembly should be triggered”, he said.
