The Eckankar Priest, Prof James I. Aguwa who is also a lecturer at the Federal University of Science and Technology, Minna, Niger State, has called on Nigerians to love one another irrespective of their religious affiliations.
Aguwa, who made the call in an interview with Peoples Daily correspondent after he presented a paper with the theme “Discover the Mahanta” during the 2020 Harji Eckankar dinner organized by Gwagwalada Eckankar Centre on Saturday.
He also urged the members of Eckankar to continue to love themselves for the sake of togetherness.
The University tutor therefore, said that Eckankar is the path of spiritual freedom, pointing out that the main teaching of Eckankar was love.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the occasion, Dan Nweze said the term “Harji is used in commemoration of Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar”.
According to the chairman, Harold Klemp is an American, born in Wisconsin and grew up in a small farm, saying that in October 1981, Klemp became the spiritual leader of Eckankar.
He said the full title of Eckankar spiritual leader is Sri Harold Klemp, pointing out that “Harold Klemp is responsible for the continued evolution of the Eckankar teachings”.
He told the gathering that the spiritual leader first encountered Eckankar in Japan.
Nancy S. Hart and the Chairman of Eckankar in Gwagwalada Eckankar Centre, Chikezie and among other invited Eckists graced the 2020 Harji Dinner celebration and Hu songs were displayed.
