Echiejile relishes debut goal
Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile is understandably excited after netting his first goal for Monaco in Friday’s Ligue 1 clash at home against Reims.
The Nigeria international got the opener in the 20th minute but unfortunately Reims secured a late equaliser which thus see Monaco sharing the spoils instead f getting the maximum points they would have preferred.
Echiejile on his twitter handle greeted the development with mixed reactions as he stated that he was happy to score but not too pleased with the final result.
“Excited to have scored my first league goal tonight but it wasn’t the result we wanted, thanks for your support. #AllerMonaco the Super Eagles defender wrote via his twitter handle @EldersonEch
While things did not go as planned for Monaco in the Ligue 1 clash, Echiejile would hope for better luck in the next outing which will be an away Champions League tie against Benfica.
The Super Eagle left-back is expected to still have some ‘secrets’ of Benfica under his shelves having played long enough in the Portuguese League with Sporting Braga before the move to France.
