The National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved that all medical practitioners and other Nigerians who have developed solutions for the treatment of the dreaded Ebola virus can submit them to the agency for verification.
NAFDAC Director-General,Pauk Orhi who disclosed this in Abuja said “bring your preparation to NAFDAC,if we find that any preparation is safe we can recommend it to patients in quarantine”
Orhi raised hopes that a Nigerian curative could be developed, but warned Nigerians against rumors. Adding that Ebola can be contained through personal hygiene and preventive measures.
Speaking in an AIT programme, Kakaaki, Orhi advised Nigerians against making contacts with pet dogs, bats, Gorillas and chimpanzees.
He also advised them not to eat bush meat, but if they must do so it must be well cooked.
Orhi revealed that NAFDAC has no control over Abattoirs as it is not within the agency’s mandate
