The Early Childhood Association of Nigeria (ECAN) has converged in the FCT College of Education Zuba to hold its 9th annual national conference of the association with the theme “Early Childhood Care and Education: Pathway to Sustainable Development Goals”
In an interview, the president of the association, Prof. (Mrs) Osanyin F. Ajike, charged the non-governmental organizations as well as the stakeholders in educational sector not to hesitate to contribute immensely towards the development of education.
She also urged the Federal Government to deem it necessary to implement policies that would impact positively on the education in the country.
She further appealed to the vice-chancellors of Nigerian universities to establish the early childhood education in their institutions for the sake of the students.
Ajike, who is a specialist in Early Childhood Education, however, advised the parents to give priority attention to the education of their children, and pleaded with the government to provide the needed facilities in schools.
