The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reiterated that they are very confident that the Stephen Keshi led Super Eagles would definitely deliver and even goes as far as the semi final at the FIFA World Cup.
The Head Coach Stephen Keshi has been faced with heavy criticism over the crop of players he invited to be in camp May 25.
But, NFF’s Board member Alhaji Yusuf Fresh said that the quality of players that would be invited by Keshi to make the final 23-man list would be killer squad.
According to him “I trust the technical crew of the Super Eagles because as a member of NFF technical committee the chief coach presented his 30-man list and I was there. And Keshi assured us of his readiness of the readiness of players who he has selected to represent the country at the competition.
“I’m optimistic that the 23-man list which he will select later will do the country proud. Let say that I respect all the 32 teams who qualified to be at the world cup because you don’t have to underrate any team.
“As it is now, no team should be seen as an underdog. I strongly believe that our Super Eagles will surpass any previous record set by any African country and get to the semi-final in the world cup, mark my words.”
Nigeria will begin its quest for glory when it confronts Iran in their opening match before facing Bosnia on June 21 and Argentina on June 25.
Before the tournament, Super Eagles will engage Scotland, USA and Greece in friendly matches.
