Lamido said this when he received officials of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), who were in the state to inspect the airport.
He explained that the state government had invested so much on the airport and was ready to do everything possible for its completion to ensure it is put to use.
“President Goodluck Jonathan laid the foundation of the airport and I will invite him and my colleagues (governors) to witness the inauguration,’’ he said.
According to him, arrangement has been concluded to transport the 2014 prospective pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia from the airport.
The governor commended the NCAA for its support and cooperation for the airport.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Nkemakolam Daniel, commended the governor for his commitment and zeal to the project, adding that some states started such project but discontinued.
Daniel advised the government to construct both inner and outer parameter fences, access roads and to install airfield lighting in the airport.
He also urged the state government to partner the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) over the engagement of manpower for the take-off of the airport. (NAN)
