The authority of the Department of Petroleum Sources(DPR) in Gombe State said they have sealed three filling stations due to some offences.
Head of operations of the department, Mr. Bernard Amos disclosed this to journalists yesterday in Gombe when a team of DPR staff went round some filling stations to see things for themselves.
According to him, the exercise took place to ensure that filling stations across the state operate their businesses in an orderly manner.
He said following the directives given from the headquarters to monitor the activities of filling stations nationwide to ensure effective sales of petroleum products to the people DPR found it necessary to embarked on the exercise through surveillance to regulate the operation of petroleum products from marketers.
The head of operations explained that the department were able to reach 15 filling stations which out of the number 3 filling stations were sealed while some pumps were decommission.
He said the affected filling stations would be sanctioned appropriately to serve as deterrent to others.
Speaking further, he called on marketers as matter of urgency to operate orderly by following the rules guided their businesses.
