Former Eagles goalkeeper and Atlanta ’96 Olympic-gold medal winner, Dosu Joseph has charged the Eagles to beat Sudan mercilessly on Wednesday in the reverse fixture of the AFCON 2015 qualifiers.
The former Reggiana of Italy goalkeeper said the Eagles should hit the Sudanese hard as a apology for the disappointing loss at the weekend in Khartoum. Nigeria has managed only a point from a possible 9 and currently sit bottom on the log in Group A behind South Africa, Congo and the Falcon of Jediane. The players have blamed the defeat on the synthetic turf in the Khartoum Stadium for the defeat.
Dosu who manned the post for the Under 23 ‘Dream team’ in Atlanta where Nigeria claimed its first Olympic gold in football has urged the Keshi-led Eagles to trounce the Sudanese as compensation for the 1-0 loss in Khartoum.
” On Wednesday when we play against the same Sudan, they ( Super Eagles) should go on that pitch and kill those Sudanese; hit them very hard, with a high score margin to appease Nigerians for what happened in Khartoum. They should go into that game with annoyance and score as many as they can so the fans can renew their trust. That’s the only way they can pay back the fans for the support,” Dosu offered.
