From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

Vice President Muhammad Namadi Sambo has called on politicians to avoid playing political games in the veil of religion for peace, unity and prosperity to continue to prevail among the multi-tribe Nigerians, under the platform of any registered political party across the country.

Namadi, who was in Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state to grace the graduation ceremony of 300 trained people on various trades under constituency project, Youth Vocational Skills Acquisition (YVSA), facilitated by Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura said, the that democracy has been put on a fragile platform by baby-politicians whose aims were to take advantage of the dangerous path the country would be driven into.

He disputed any plan by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan to suffocate the northern part of the country, but rather embarked upon every means to ensure poverty among the good citizens of the region is battled out through various empowerment programmes which SURE-P is obviously among.

“The PDP-led administration has never seen any part of the country as cranny of enemies that deserves diminishing considering its tireless commitments towards ensuring peace and unity, economic and social development as well, which were strongly believe are the bedrock of security”, challenged Namadi.

He further noted that the federal government has condemned in totality, any political game that promote tribalism and movements towards sparking ethno-religious crisis among the good fellows of the country, adding that, “Nigeria has to be complete secular nation where tribal and religious tolerance must have ground for peace to continue to prevail”.

“The issue of  a political party managed by a Muslim or a Christian follower did not even arise in Nigeria, considering the set of our fore leaders, which was a combination of Muslims and Christians, the recent examples were Obasanjo and Atiku, ‘Yar Adua and Jonathan, and now Jonathan and myself. Look at even the set of Buhari and Osinbajo candidacy under APC”, he stressed.

Earlier, Senator Sahabi Ya’u said, he initiated the programme with the aim to enhance the well-being of the teeming populace across the four local government areas under his constituency that comprised Shinkafi, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda local councils.
