A University Don in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the university of Abuja in Gwagwalada Area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Prof. Ishaku Ibrahim Yari Mallo, has called on the Southern Kaduna People Union (SOKAPU) Gwagwalada branch to come together irrespective of their tribal differences, so as to move the union to the next level in the area.
Mallo, who made the call while presenting a paper tagged “The Question of culture Area in the Context of Southern Kaduna People” during the union’s cultural day celebration at the weekend in Gwagwalada, also urged the southern Kaduna people to be the custodians of their culture in anywhere they live.
He further pleaded with the southern Kaduna people to always rise up to do things collectively for the better of the union to achieve its objectives.
He therefore, appealed to the elected politicians as well as royal fathers to fight for the needs of the southern Kaduna people in the area of creation of Gurara state and establishment of the institutions of higher learning.
In an interview the chief of southern Kaduna in Gwagwalada, Chief Sunday J. Audu said that the motive behind the celebration of the cultural day was to showcase the rich cultural heritage of southern Kaduna people to the upcoming youths in the area.
Audu begged the southern Kaduna people to continue to live in peace with one another for the sake of togetherness.
On his part, the chairman of SOKAPU in Gwagwalada branch, comrade Hassan Goroh Shadalaifya, pointed out that his leadership would continue to focus on the developmental needs of the people at all times.
He further said that his administration would take the windows as well as orphans along in terms of their needs in order to cope with the challenges of life in the society.
He said that he would not hesitate to continue to preach peace among the southern Kaduna people, while advising his people to be law-abiding citizens in the area.
While presenting his speech, the SOKAPU chairman appealed to the southern Kaduna people to vote for the credible candidates in 2015 general elections who will deliver the dividends of democracy to them.
Shadalafiya, however, used the occasion to call on the Gwagwalada chairman, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri to provide basic amenities for the people in the area.
