North-east All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Forum has described Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya(APC Kano South)’s aspiration for the office of deputy president a gateway for one united Nigeria.
Theo forum said this while speaking with journalists Abuja.
The Coordinator of the Forum, Comrade Mustapha Abdulazeez Mubi said that if Nigeria should remain as one entity, tested politicians of Gaya’s standing who is a bridge builder should be supported for the position.
Mubi said that Senator Gaya has shown in all the committees that he has served in the Senate since coming to the red chamber that Nigeria is his constituency. He explained that when Senator Kabiru Gaya was Senate’s Deputy Whip from 2007-2011 his impact was felt nationwide. As vice-chairman, Local and Foreign Debts as well as chairman States and Local Government Administration in the Senate 2011-2015; he performed creditably that impending anarchy in Rivers State was brought under control. Also it is on record that Pensioners in the country have always supported because of the hope he gave them when he co-chaired the Pension Committee of the Senate, Mubi said.
He further said that repeating what has been said in the news over Senator Gaya’s aspiration for deputy senate presidency could only be a hoax. He however said that the APC Youths forum is only appealing to the party that it is payback time for Gaya’s loyalty and selfless service for the party.
The public affairs analyst said that if the party’s hierarchy fails to actualise the Kano South federal lawmaker’s aspiration, posterity could yodel that loyalty to APC is without reward. He however said that he is optimistic that the APC of the next level is a party with listening ear.
