In the spirit of the celebration of the 15 years of democracy in the country, a retired army officer, Alhaji Abdullahi Dabo, has urged politicians in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to be patriotic and emulate the legacies of Nigeria’s founding fathers and leaders, in order to move the country forward.
Dabo, who made the call in a telephone interview with Peoples Daily, at his residence in Dakwa community, in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, also urged other politicians in the country to deem it necessary to place emphasis on the welfare of the masses at all times.
He specifically called on the political office holders to provide meaningful jobs for the teeming youths roaming the streets across in FCT and across the country.
He appealed to both Executive as well as legislative arms of government to work together towards providing the much anticipated dividends of democracy for the people that elected them into power.
On education, he urged leaders to provide the needed infrastructural facilities in the tertiary institutions, so as to boost the morale of the students.
