Delta polytechnic Ogwashi Uku ranks 8th best among Nigeria polytechnics -Rector

Following its dint of good academic performance, Delta state Polytechnic, Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, has been ranked 8th position among Nigeria polytechnics with a score of 102nd position among all higher institutions in Nigeria, including Universities.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Stella Chiemeke in a statement she signed on monday, a copy made available to our Correspondent in Asaba, said that the institution was founded to provide access to world class education, adding that the the achievements of emerging 8th best in the current ranking of polytechnics by the webometric was a huge success, considering the fact that in July 2019, when the institution was first ranked and emerged at distant of 232nd position among all Nigeria institutions available on webometric.
Professor Chiemeke explained that the achievement called for Celebration following several successes the polytechnic had recorded in the recent times, adding that successes with regard to the webometric ranking could be seen as a function of the vision of Delta state government in providing world class education to Nigerians through access to modern education facilities and high calibre manpower.
She said; “the Institution’s management was fully committed to the vision of delivering world class polytechnic education to Nigerians at a minimal cost, its focus underscored the need for the polytechnic to be among the very best,not Just in Africa, but world at large and it was sequel to the focus of making the polytechnic a world class polytechnic that the institution is richly equipped with modern scientific teaching equipment and facilities and boasts of an advanced learning environment”.
Meanwhile, Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council has assured Deltans of its commitment to ensure that fulani hersdmen with camps in bushes at various communities are no longer in operations as efforts were being made to demolish them.
The State Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Obi Emmanuel Efeziomor 11, said “we say that the initiative to set up an independent security outfit in Delta state, the exercise is long overdue, We thank the Governor immensly for making this a reality, we traditional rulers will give our support especially as will demolish illegal camps in our bushes, we ask that the exercise should involve whistle blowing, we have been waiting for this community policing outfit for a long time”.
