Delta State Police Command on Monday confirmed the death of a teenage girl whose name was yet to be known in a hotel room, saying that investigation into the incident was on going.
Police Commissioner in the state, Adeyinka Adeleke who confirmed this to journalists at media conference, said that investigation was ongoing with a view to ensuring the Killers of the girl are brought to book soonest.
“We are investigating the incident, Yes it’s true, they told me about somebody who died in a hotel room, but Journalists should be careful about the story because we don’t know the reason or what may have killed her, but all the same, the hotel management claimed they suspected fumigation, We are not really sure until investigations are concluded,”Adeyinka said.
It was gathered that the yet unidentified girl was found dead in a hotel room in Amukpe Community in Sapele town at the weekend after she was alleged to have lodged into a hotel room with a male partner suspected to be her boyfriend.
Some members of the hotel who did not want their names in the print had suspected a foul play when they caught the Unnamed Boyfriend trying to make an escape from the hotel as he was followed into the room where he had been with the girl and found her lying on the ground lifeless.
The hotel workers were said to have raised the alarm and held the suspect before he was handed over to the police at the Sapele Police Division for further investigation
Sources said that the girl entered the drinking bar of the hotel (name withheld) with the young man where they both allegedly drank campari before they entered the hotel room.
Some residents of Amukpe Community in Sapele town who spoke to journalists in the area on condition of anonymity described the incident as pathetic and fear of the unknown, and urged the Police to properly investigate the suspect and the incident surrounding the death of the girl in the hotel room
