Delta NYSC upgraded to South-South admin. headquarters, says Coordinator

Delta State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Benjamin Ayodele Omotade has said that the state has been approved as South South Administrative Headquarters by federal government for the establishment of NYSC Area Offices in the six geo political zones.
Omotade who spoke to journalists on Monday at the closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch B Stream 11 Orientation Course at Issele Uku for members of the NYSC posted to Delta State, disclosed that the administrative office will oversee the activities of the organization in the six states of the geopolitical zone comprising Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Delta state, and urged all Corps members to be hardworking and always prove to the state that they are worthy ambassadors of NYSC.
Meanwhile, the state government has expressed happiness for the new development of the NYSC, stressing that it will continue to support the objectives of Corps members posted to the state.
Speaking through its Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Patrick Muoboghare, the state government however urged Corps members posted to the state to rededicate their services to the state and its good people, saying that it was irrevocably committed to the welfare of the scheme.
“We will continue to do all within available resources to keep improving on what is available especially now that we are heading the six states in the South South geo political zone.” Muoboghare said
He said that the state was created an avenue for youths to be enterpreneurs and employers of labour, adding that the proof of that was the case whereby 50 Deltans who graduated from the University were given opportunity to participate in skills enterpreneuship
