Delta State Government has described as unacceptable the slow pace work at the ongoing construction site of the Faculty of Environmental Studies building Complex of the Awai Campus of the state Owned University, ( DELSU)
The state Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Patrick Mouboghare who spoke to journalists in Asaba on Thursday expressed the misgiving that not much work had been done since his last visit to the site adding that the delay had greatly affected the visit of the accreditation team from the National University Commission
While calling on the Contractor to step up work and Complete the Job to without further delay, the Commissioner disclosed that the state government had been magnimous in meeting its Contractual Obligations to the Contractors and wondered why any Contractor who is not being owed. would delay work, adding that action that will serve as deterrent to others would soon be taken.
He said” we are not happy with the slow pace of work at the University Campus, the Contractor may be looking for something very different, and we shall take proactive measures to serve as deterrent to others because this not the bargain we had with the Contractor and the Ministry would not hesitate to take a look at the second way on the Contract agreement with the Firm
