The former gubernatorial candidate of defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Kwara State in 2011 general election, Mohammed Dele Belgore (SAN) has described the death of Prof. Shehu Jimoh as great loss to the nation.
Belgore, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaiye on Wednesday, noted that the late university don has contributed a lot to the education development of Nigeria.
“We receive with sadness the passing of Emeritus Professor Shehu Jimoh. The first doctor of philosophy (Education) graduate of the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1977, Professor Shehu Jimoh was a great educationist whose achievements inspired many people in Nigeria especially in Kwara, his home state.
“The death, at this time, of this illustrious teacher and psychologist is a great loss to Nigeria as a whole and to Kwara state and the Ilorin community in particular. It is painful because it comes at a time that such important voice is needed to silence ignorance and needless indoctrination.
