Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Akin Dare is among the high-powered dignitaries expected to grace the final match of the 2019 5Stars Premier League final holding on Saturday at City Park, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Apart from the number one sports person in the country, FCT Football Association Chairman, Adam Mohammed Mukhtar as well as the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen will grace the final.
Other dignitaries expected at the final include the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Faruk; the Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Barrister Julie Okah-Donli, among others.
Football players to honour the final include Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, defender, Shehu Abdullahi, among other players while Cosgrove, Constrix, SV Chrome, Beer Barn, Tilt Group, Red Bull etc, are sponsors who are also expected to be part of the final with their side attractions.
Meanwhile no less than $6, 000 (N2, 160, 000) is up for grab in the Abuja 5Stars Premier League grassroots football tournament. The competition which kicked off few weeks ago with 12 clubs will see FC Hearts slug it out in the final against Trinity Boys Football Club.
To reach the final, FC Hearts saw off FA by 6-2 in the semi-final while Trinity Boys FC defeated Bucklers 0-1 en route the final.
The final is expected to be a fire brand with the two sides parading players who have eyes for goals.
Trinity Boys parades the like of Isaac Ukuade who has scored 9 goals so far. On the other hand, Trinity Boys will have their hands full as they would battle to stop Precious and Umar Kurfi both of the FC Hearts with 7 and 6 goals each to their names from causing havoc.
The tournament has witnessed massive goal scoring sides with Peter Babe Nasara of Kosisi FC leading the chart with 10 goals. He is closely followed by Isaac Ukuade of Trinity Boys with 9 goals. Precious and Umar Kurfi of FC Hearts have 7 and 6 goals each.
The winner of the 5Stars Premier League will go home with $3, 000 (N1.080 million) prizes.
The 5Stars Premier League is organised by the LostButFound Company to develop and encourage talented players through grassroots football to actualise their dreams. The tournament also serves as a mechanism through which all type of social ill, vices in the country could be curtailed.
The final match between FC Heart v Trinity Boys FC will be played on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the City Park, Wuse 2, Abuja.
