Gombe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has approved contract for the electrification of Akko local government area at the cost of N448 million so as to reduce the hardship of the people in the area.
Governor Dankwambo made the approval on Wednesday during the 21st state executive council meeting in Gombe also said that the project is expected to cover 38 villages in the area.
The governor who was represented by the commissioner for Information Rev. Habu Dawaki told newsmen shortly after state executive council meeting that governor Dankwambo also purchased transformers at the cost of N86 million which is expected to be distributed to communities in the state. According to him, governor Dankwambo had made frantic effort to ensure that citizens in the state benefit the gesture which he explained that the state executive meeting also approved the sum of N1million for Airport water project, but noted that 20,000 tonnes of fertilizer have been purchased and distributed to citizens at the cost of N2.5 billion.
Speaking further, the commissioner said the council also observed the need for additional township road which according to him, was approved at the cost of N509 million by governor Dankwambo with a view to move the state forward, noting that the rehabilitation of Jeka-Dafari road and roundabout at the cost of N1 billion he said.
