Cultists kill polytechnic staff

Rampaging cultists in Ogwashi Uku in Delta State on Wednesday evening allegedly killed a staff of the polytechnic in the area.
The victim, identified as”Biggy”was allegedly shot thrice on his chest as he was coming out from a shopping center,”mega chill” where he had gone to do some shopping for himself and his family members by the Cultists.
Chukwudi Emeka, alias Eto, HND11 student of the polytechnic who spoke to our correspondent said that the late staff was humble and resourceful, adding that the Cultists killed him for no reasons adduced.
Officials of the polytechnic who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity confirmed that the said”Biggy” was killed by Cultists rampaging in the community, adding that the victim sometimes last month, was allegedly warned by unknown persons who claimed he was too strict in the hall during examination.
Though, there are palpable tension and fear of the unknown within the polytechnic, the community,Asaba, and its environs following renewed cult related war, and allegedly killings of innocent persons, but the rector of the polytechnic, Professor (Mrs) Stella Chiemeke, who spoke to Journalists in the school, however assured that the school authorities will get to the root of the incident, and dispelled as untrue Cultists taken over the school.
“We don’t have Cultists in the polytechnic, we have been able to tamed them, and our security agencies are working very hard to protect our students, staff, it’s unfortunate that”Biggy”was killed by suspected Cultists” She added.
Police Public Relations officer in the state, DSP Onovuwakpoyeya Onome who confirmed the incident to Journalists, said investigation was ongoing with a view to ensuring the Cultists are arrested, adding that the photo of the victim was found on different social media network, even as the time of filing this report.
