Allegation of bribe taking in the sum of N50,000 to set free homosexual suspect, is currently rocking the Delta State Police Command.

Reports said that a homosexual suspect was allegedly set free after a N50, 000 bribe was allegedly from him by the Police at the state CID department.

It was reliably gathered that the suspect (name withheld) was alleged to have been involved in homosexual practice, teaches in one of the private schools in Okpanam community near Asaba and was arrested when he sexually abused a 7 year old primary 2 student.

Sources said the parents of the male student upon the sad news took him before the headmaster of the school (names withheld) where he identified the teacher suspect.

As it were, the suspect allegedly took the victim away from the classroom during school hours to a lonely place where he asked him to pull his clothes down before he began to abuse him via anus. But the police public relations officer in the state, DSP Celestine kalu, who denied the N50,000 bribe taking from the suspect, confirmed that the suspect was arrested at the school premises when the parents of the victim petitioned the police.

DSP Kalu said that based on the information supplied by the parents of the victim, the police swung into action and arrested the suspect, adding that upon interrogation the suspect confessed to the crime.

She explained that since the offence was bail able, the suspect was released on bail, while investigation continues in the matter.
