From Mustapha Adamu, Kano
The Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir has charged the district, village and ward heads and imams to tell the entire people of the emirate to engage in special prayers in their homes for Allah’s intervention against the outbreak of coronavirus in Kano State.
The emir made the call in a statement signed by his secretary and issued to newsmen on Wednesday.
In the statement, the emir said “people should devote their time, especially during the five daily prayers to read Quran extensively and do other good deeds.
“ I call on people to adhire strictly to the safety measures outlined by the Ministry of Health and embrace advises by the health practitioners in order to avoid contracting the virus,” said the statement.
The emir also urged the general public to report any symptoms, aimed at checking the spread of the dreaded disease.
Alhaji Abdulkadir then warned those who peddle rumours on coronavirus calling on people to remain calm as government is on top of the matter.
