In furtherance of its efforts at curtailing the spread of the deadly coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19 pandemic, the Enforcement Team of the FCT Administration has arrested the General Overseer of the Jesus Reign Family church located at Apo, Pastor U U Uden for allegedly violating ban on places on worship in the Territory.
The church, located not too far from the popular Cedacrest hospital in the App District of the nation’s capital city, was fully running services when the team arrived for enforcement activities.
It was gathered that members of the Ministerial task team led by the Chairman, FCT Ministerial Task Team on Traffic decongestion, Mr. Ikahro Attah had to wait for the pastor to conclude the worship before approaching him to explain his wrongs, and immediately arrest him.
He was immediately taken to the FCT police command at Garki and handed over to policemen on duty for further investigation and action.
Similarly, the team also dispersed worshippers at the Christ Embassy church located at jahi district of the FCT, and closed other fourteen erring churches at other parts of the Territory.
Despite the presence of the team the said pastor continued the service to the end while the team waited to avoid confrontation.
It was learnt that the Team thereafter arrested the officiating pastor, who was later taken to the FCT police command headquarters at Garki-Abuja.
Furthermore, it was gathered that the team also shutdown the popular Mega medicine store, H-Medix pharmacy located close to the popular Amingo supermarket at Wuse 2 district of the FCT, following complaints received at the FCT COVID-19 situation room that the pharmacy does not have short-Gun thermometer and required items to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
