Covid-19: Adamawa APC shares palliatives to 15,000 households in 226 wards

In an effort to cushion the effects of Corona virus pandamic (COVID 19), Adamawa state Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has distributed palliatives to fifteen thousand households (15,000) across 226 wards in the state.
Making the distributions in Fufore, Girei and Yola local government areas at the Weekend, state executives of the party led by the party chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, announced that the gesture came from the Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, in his personal capacity as a stakeholder.
Bilal charged party stakeholders and membership to also have faith in their leadership despite not being as opposition at the state level stressing that all hope is not lost with the good leaders in the party.
While enjoying the party leadership at those local councils to ensure fairness and transparency in the process of distribution of the relief materials to all manner of people devoid of political party inclination.
He noted that the existence of COVID 19 is nothing more than an enemy that is out to destroy humanity regardless of age,color,religion,geographical location or tribe therefore all hands must be on deck to defeat the pandamic as a people.
Earlier in an interview with journalists after the distribution exercise,state secretary of the party, Wamfarniyi Therman said the party’s state executives and stakeholders drew the sharing formula with a view to cover many households in the state.
Therman dismissed the allegations in some quarters that the party diverted the relief materials insisting that all that happened in the highest sense of transparency and accountability.
He stated that what ever steps taken in the exercise was meant to bring succour to the people while the major source (SGF) was duely informed and satisfied.
He however called on the ruling peoples Democratic Party in the state to emulate the gesture from them as no case of discrimination against any body occasioned by party difference.
Our correspondent reports that items shared includes; Bags of rice,cartoons of indomie noodles,cooking oil and other consumables worth millions of naira.
Most of the beneficiaries interviewed expressed delight over the assistance maintaining that other politicians and well to do in our societies should emulate in helping the weak so that peace and tranquility can be attained.
