No fewer than 358,000 people are to benefit from the federal government’s relief palliatives in Jigawa state.
This was announced by the state governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru while briefing news men on Covid – 19 pandemic in the state.
He explained that, out of the total 150 trucks allocated to Jigawa state from the federal government, 110 trucks of palliatives have arrived.
The governor said, state government concluded all arrangement to distribute the palliatives through 358 polling boxes across the state.
“At least 100 people would benefit from each of 358 polling boxes across the state which equivalent to 358,000 beneficiaries in the state”, he said.
Governor Badaru added that, after consultation with all stakeholders, state government allow people to observed Eid-el-kabir prayers but all prevention measures must be taken while Sallah celebration activities are suspended.
While speaking on Presidential Fertilizer Innitiative (PFI) governor Badaru said, federal government targeted to produce 300,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizer this year.
According to him, out of 31 fertilizer plant companies established across the country, 21 companies commenced operation fully.
He then assured federal government commitment to produce and make fertilizer available and at affordable price of N5000 to farmers in Nigeria.
