The Senior Magistrate court 1 in Damaturu Yobe state, has arraigned a 48 years old man, Adamu Ibrahim Nguru, who is a civil servant and resident of Gwange ward in Damaturu for breach of trust.

Police prosecutor, Cpl. Bulama Maina, told the court that the report was brought to the police station by one Audu Mohammed Jingiri on the 25th of October, 2014 at about 1400 hours.

He told the court that sometime in 2012, the complainant entrusted the sum of N2 million to run a business with the agreement of sharing the profit but the accused person intentionally broke the agreement and refused to pay back the said N2 million, for almost 30 months to the owner.

He told the court that all efforts made by the complainant to collect back the said amount of money proved abortive.

He told the court that the offence is punishable under section 312 of the penal code law of Northern Nigeria which empowers the court to punish the offender with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years imprisonment or with fine or with both.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence prompting the presiding Judge, Abba Bukar to adjourn the case to the 11th of November, 2014 for hearing and granted the accused person bail to the sum of N200,000 with equal surety who must be residing within the court jurisdiction.
