The Secretary, Abaji area council, Hon. Kamal Adamu has raised an alarm over the rising cases of kidnapping in the area, thereby affecting the socio-economic development of the place.
Adamu advised perpetrators of the dastardly acts to desist from it or face the full wrath of the law.
Speaking during stakeholders meeting held at the place of Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Yunusa, Kamal applauded role the Ona for ensuring that the area is free from all forms of criminality.
The Secretary tasked community leaders in Abaji and its environs to give priority to security matters in their domains.
He cautioned parents should not approach the council chairman or the Ona for the release of any child arrested in the act of kidnapping.
He enjoined the community leaders to submit a weekly report to the Ona, while calling on the divisional police officer (DPO) in the area to make available his phone numbers in the event of distress calls.
Earlier, the Ona of Abaji Adamu Yunusa, had expressed sadness on the menace of kidnapping in Abaji and its environs, just as he tasked his subjects to cooperate with security agencies in the area to curb the menace.
