The Council of Imams and Ulama has inaugurated a 10- mam committee on the prevention of the spread of coronavirus in Kaduna State.
The Chairman of the Council Shayk Ibrahim Nakaka disclosed this in a statement made available to media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement signed by Publicity Secretary of the Council, Dr Abdullahi Nuhu Maikudi stated that the formation of the committee became necessary looking at nonchalant attitude been exhibited by some people towards the prevention of COVID 19.
The chairman urged the committee to work with all interest group including government, Non-Governmental organizations and all other stakeholders to ensure better understanding among the people of Kaduna state particularly the Muslims community on the mode of transmission and preventions of coronavirus.
“The Secretary General of the Council, Mallam Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu who is a renown public health expert will chair the committee, other members include; Dr Abdullahi Nuhu Maikudi, Shaykh Murtala Abdulkadir Shanono, Shaykh Abdulkarim Hashim Bindawa, Alhaji Ado Fara,Dr Muhammad Aliyu Zaria, Shaykh Bello Ja’far, Shaykh Muhammad Kabir Qasim Kafanchan, Shayk Muhammad Bawa Kafanchan and Mallam Abdullahi Baba Zaria.
“The committee which has already commenced its activities immediately after its inauguration will continue to work until such a time when government will declare Kaduna state free of corona virus,” the statement reads.
