To complement the Kebbi State Government efforts in tackling the pandemic coronavirus outbreak in the state, yesterday the Kebbi State Youth Leader in charge of Gwandu Emirate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Danbila (Sarki Samari) donated the surgical face mask and other medical items to the market associations in the state.
Presenting the items to the General Manager in charge of the Central Market Birnin Kebbi, the youth leader said that the gesture is to support the state government in its effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.
The Sarki Samari said that the youth leader deemed it necessary to support Kebbi State Government on the fight against the pandemic disease.
He said that the aim of the sensitisation was to ensure that people comply with the directives of the state government on the precautionary measures put in place to prevent the outbreak of Covid 19 in the state.
He said the gesture was part of the youth social responsibility to support the well-being of people in the state, as market is place where different people enter and purchase good.
“As we are all aware, Covid 19 pandemic is disturbing the world and killing many people, so we the Kebbi youth group deemed it necessary to support the fight against the disease, he said.
In his response, the General Manager in charge of Market Association Kebbi State Alhaji Aminu Umar expressed appreciation to youth leader for the donation .
He commended them for supporting the state in its trying period. He promised that the items would be judiciously utilized in the fight against Covid 19.
Also in his remark, the chairman Central Market Association Alhaji Umar Dangura thank the Sarki Samari for their unflinching support and love towards the people of the state, assured him of their commitment towards using the items and ensured that kebbi will not record any case of the outbreak.
“We have also embarked on sensitization and surveillance to ensure compliance with measures put in place by the State Government has been followed” he added.
Chairman also emphasized there is need by the general public to strictly practice personal hygiene, environmental sanitation and social distancing while reiterating that Kebbi state did not record any single case of Corona Virus in the state.
