Coronavirus: Nasarawa govt urges food vendors to maintain hygiene

With the current global dreaded disease corona virus COVID19 having its toil, the Nasarawa State Home Grown School Feeding Programme manager Mr. Amos Magaji has urged food vendors in the to adhere strictly by keeping their environment clean as well as personal hygiene maintained always.
The programme manager who made the call during its first quarterly meeting with food vendors drawn from Lafia and Doma Local Government Councils of the state held at the Abacha Youth Centre Lafia, the state capital yesterday.
According to him “The meeting today is to create awareness for you food vendors on hygiene and how to work in cordiality with Head masters and school teachers. Cleanliness is equal to Godliness. Keep food items clean and dishes. Always wash your hands before and after cooking. Keep your environment neat.
Mr. Magaji further cautioned food vendors who are in the habit of diverting food items meant for pupils of their respective schools to desist or face the wrath of the law; adding that the Authority of the school feeding programme are working in collaboration with the security operatives in the state aimed at checkmating defaulters.
I urged you to desist from sharp practices such as diversion of food items given to you. Failure to supply food to designated schools will face security operatives for interrogation. Already we have apprehended some food vendors and handed over to the security operatives” Amos noted.
He however applauded the bulk step taken by the federal and state governments for sustaining the programme which according to him” this has tremendously encouraged pupils enrolment in public schools across the state”
“We must give kudos to president Buhari for the initiation as well as our state governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule for sustaining the programme” Amos Maintained
