The senator representing Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Philip Aduda has identified Government Secondary School, Gwagwalada as a location site for the building of block of 3 classrooms as his constituency project under the Sustainable Development Goals of the Federal Government project in FCT.
Addressing officers from Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing in his office, when they brought a letter of conveyance, the Chairman of FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Hon. Yahaya Muhammad said, it is heartwarming to see that Education in FCT is receiving the attention it deserves through the contributions of various stakeholders.
SEB boss noted that education is a vital tool for development in any nation and making it a priority is one legacy that cannot be forgotten and cannot be taken for granted in FCT.
He expressed his delight for the constituency project sited in one of the FCT Secondary Education Board Schools, just as he commended the FCT Senator for his foresight and passion for Education.
He therefore urged the Town Planning and Technical officers from Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing as well as the contractors involved to ensure the quality of the building is not compromised, stressing that FCT is a model city where its quality infrastructure and facilities are maintained in the teaching and learning environment.
Muhammad also called on the Head of Division of the Board’s planning and development, Mr. Jacob Abimaje to ensure strict compliance to laid down rules and specifications of the project to avoid any lapses or set back in the process.
Explaining earlier, the two officers from Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Joseph Dechi and Alhaji Gambo Jiya said, as they embarked on the supervisory work, it is necessary to formally inform the Board’s management for further input and to work harmoniously towards the completion of the project.
The officers assured the board chairman of their readiness to supervise the project and work with the board in accordance to the project specification without compromising its quality and standard, while ensuring its delivery within the time frame.
