Confine yourself to constitutional duties Gen Yakubu charges cadets

The 779 Passing out cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), on Saturday, have been enjoined to confine themselves to constitutional duties assigned them.
The Former military administrator of Sokoto State Brig Gen Yakubu Mu’azu (RTD) gave the advise at the Commandant’s luncheon organised in honour of passing out cadets of 67 regular course and short service course 46 held at the Academy house Kaduna.
Mu’azu who was the special guest of honour at the event also enjoined the cadets to remain focused, disciplined, level headed in the next few days which according to him are the most critical in their quest for presidential commissioning.
He advised them to focus totally and wholeheartedly in doing assigned duties in order to endear themselves to their superiors, while inspiring their subordinates.
The former military administrator urged the cadets to continually strive to build solidly and progressively their initial training in NDA to enable them reach the pinnacle of their career, as well as attending all mandatory courses and utilize any opportunity to develop themselves.
Mu’azu also cautioned the cadets to avoid anything or any interest group to lure them into engaging into trivialities.
Earlier in his remarks, Commandant of the Academy, Maj -GenJamil Sarham explained that the event is aimed at providing an avenue for the passing out cadets to come together with officers and civilian staff of the academy and freely inter mix in a conducive atmosphere.
He maintained that the gathering presents a suitable forum with the cadets to also learn from some of the experiences of instructors and distinguished guests.
Sarham added that the event is scheduled to draw the NDA training year to a close which will be climaxed by the passing out parade.
A total of 779 – are expected to be commissioned into the armed forces on Oct 10.
