Civil Servants have been urged to imbibe the culture of keeping physical fitness, in order to live a healthy life and for mental alertness.
The Auditor General of the Federation, Mr. Anthony Ayeni, gave this charge during a recent civil service monthly jogging exercise, organized by the Federation of Civil Service Games at the National Stadium, Abuja, recently.
Ayeni, who was guest of honour at the event reminded Civil Servants that it was a normal exercise that comes up at the end of every month.
He noted that the exercise remains useful for healthy living and mental vitality, and prayed that God may guide participants through the exercise from the beginning to the end of the session.
The Auditor General said: “ I encourage you try to understand your body language.
“And if you feel tired or pain, I urge you to step aside from work, and obey your body constitution, but enjoy the monthly exercise programme.”
Activities involved in the exercise included long walks, jogging, aerobics and massaging.
Similarly, there were various trophies to be won at the end of the exercise, which featured various aspects such as fitness, endurance as well as the best behaved amongst others during the programme.
