The Executive and Chaplaincy of the heavenly Kingdom Church International Gwagwalada in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has bestowed awards on the Judge of the FCT High Court in Gwagwalada, Justice Mwada Balami, along with other personalities, for their contributions toward the progress of the less privileged ones in the Territory.

The Judge was honoured with the “Religious Leadership” award, just as Peoples Daily reporter, Mr. Usman Shuaibu, bagged the “Doctor of Divinity” award, alongside other awardees.

Performing the award ceremony, the Priest in charge of the church, Archbishop Lay Balogun, said that the leadership of the church deemed it necessary to honour the awardees based on their work that help to uplift the welfare of the less privileged members of the society.

He pointed out that the church would not hesitate to continue to award those people who had contributed positively to the development of the society.

He urged the recipients to see the honours done to them as motivation to even do more for the less privileged ones around them.

Also, while commenting on the forthcoming 2015 general elections, Balogun, advised politicians in FCT and the country at large to shun politics of bitterness, as according to him, politics is not a do or die affair.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Justice Balami thanked the leadership of the church for the honour done to him and others, which he said would spur them to continue in doing more good works for the needy.

He however, charged other recipients to continue to do good things in the society, so as to earn themselves more awards.

Furthermore, the Judge used the occasion to call on the religious leaders, irrespective of their status to always preach the gospel of Christ as prescribed in the Holy Bible.
