The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido has urged
residents especially Christians to always imbibe and reflect virtues of Jesus Christ in their relationship with one another and their sense of responsibility to the nation as citizens.
Candido who gave this charge as Christians yesterday celebrated Christ birthday, whom represents love and selfless service to God humanity.
He noted that the joyous occasion should be used as period of sober reflection on one’s lifestyle.
The AMAC Chairman, in his Christmas message to residents, described it as a season of love, peace and joy of the salvation that Jesus Christ brought to humanity and should be celebrated by reciprocating this love to man kind.
He however stressed that the season is not a season for self- destruction or vices that are negative.
According to him; “ Jesus Christ was sent to us to redeem the people and to assure us of internal and everlasting life, so I encourage the residents of the AMAC to imbibe the virtures of Christmas as a season and to emulate Jesus Christ character and conduct and be our brothers keepers.”
“We are not taught to be unruling by Jesus Christ but we are told to be modest, live a peaceful life and if only we want to imbibe the virtue of Jesus Christ.
“I think this season is one Excellent season that we should demonstrate love to one another and ensure we avoid those negative tendencies that will lead us into crime and criminalities.”
