In the spirit of the festive season, Landlords and Residents of the Berger Quarry Labamba Association visited two orphanage homes in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Bwari area council, to donate assorted gift items.

The orphanages visited were: Hope for Survival Orphanage, located at Gishiri community and City of Refuge, Mpape, in AMAC and Bwari respectively.

Some of the items presented to the orphanages were food items, toiletries and cash of money.

According to the chairman of the Berger Quarry prayer committee, Pastor Osasu Osamwonyi, the visit to the orphanages was a covenant that the Landlords entered with God in 2012 when the Federal Capital

Territory Administration threatened to demolish their house.

He said the people had told God that since he was able to save them from demolition, they would in turn show appreciation yearly by having annual thanksgiving and visiting the less privilege with whatever substance to assist them.

He therefore enjoined the handlers of the orphanages to see their works as the work of God, therefore they should be rest assured that God would take care of them and whatever that concerns them.

In his remarks, the chairman of Labamba, Berger Quarry Road, Mr. Johnchuks Onuanyim said that the Landlords were at the Orphanages to give hope, to show love, and to share the challenges of the children.

According to him, the circumstance of a child’s birth has little to contribute to the future of the child.

He said the landlords were at the Orphanages as parents, brothers, sisters, neighbors and friends. He enjoined the children to believe that they were as good or better than any other child born in the besthospital or living in the best mansion.

He used the opportunity to call on government to find ways of developing Mpape by bringing infrastructures and to jettison the idea of demolishing the area and sending over 800, 000 persons to the streets of Abuja.

The members of the Executives and Committee of the Labamba Berger Quarry Road, Mpape that Visited the Orphanages were: Johnchuks Onuanyim, Johnbull Nwafor, Joel Olaopa, Deborah Ayorinde, Osasu Osamwonyi, Ayotunde Gbemiga, Iyebafa Akhirevbuhi, Emmanul Uche Lawrence and Ayomide Ayorinde.
